The Palm Oracle uses Xiao Liu Ren (小六壬), a six-palm divination method, to return one of six possible answers. Each result includes a summary, description, element, and direction. Treat it as a mirror for your own intuition, not a deterministic prediction.
Xiao Liu Ren, or 'Minor Six Ren,' is a traditional Chinese divination method that classifies a moment into one of six palms: Great Peace, Lingering, Swift Joy, Scarlet Quarrel, Small Fortune, and The Void. It is often used for quick, everyday questions and requires no special tools beyond the palms of the hands.
Liu Yao (六爻) is the classical I Ching (易经, Yijing, or Book of Changes) six-line method. Choose a question category, then cast six lines from bottom to top — by shaking three coins, entering a physical throw, or casting by the lunar clock. Each line can be stable or changing. The reading includes the hexagram's name, judgment, image, focus relation, and a detailed reading of strength, trajectory, and timing.
A hexagram is a stack of six lines, each line either yin (broken) or yang (solid). It is made of two trigrams (stacks of three lines) stacked together. A changing line is a yin becoming yang or yang becoming yin, indicating movement or transformation in that part of the reading.
Enter your birth year, month, and day. The Chinese Zodiac assigns an animal sign to each year in a twelve-year cycle, rolling over at Chinese New Year. Each year also carries one of five elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water) from its heavenly stem, plus a fixed element associated with the animal. The result describes traditional traits associated with that sign.
